Getting started

  1. Open the download and drag Betty into Applications. She’s notarised by Apple, so she opens with a normal double-click.
  2. Install Ollama when Betty asks. Betty’s first-run setup fetches it and the model for you — around 13 GB, once.
  3. Say Betty, or just type. She’ll ask permission the first time she reaches your files, mail or microphone.

Needs macOS 12 or later. For the on-device model, an Apple Silicon Mac with 24 GB of memory or more. On Intel Macs — and on smaller Apple Silicon machines — Betty runs against a cloud model you supply a key for, which you choose during setup.
